by
Kelly Marshall
Do you have problems with your puppy or dog displaying bad behaviors? Don't feel alone, if this is the case, but breaking bad dog behaviors with positive reinforcement offers the best results. There are people that believe a dog's behavior is only as good as the pet owner's training and this is true, to a certain extent. Communication with your dog or puppy is crucial to proper training and you need to understand your dog's communication, as well. The best time to train a dog is when it is a puppy, but with consistent, positive reinforcement, you can train your dog to have good behaviors, instead of bad.

The Return Of Peyton Manning And All Things Football
by
Paul Ciullo
It was an eventful first Sunday of the NFL football season. The 49ers took out the Packers in Lambeau in what might've been a preview of this season's NFC Championship game, RG3 looked like the real deal in his first professional start as the Redskins upset the Saints, the new look Bears offense dominated the Colts and ruined the dawn of the Andrew Luck era in Indianapolis, everyone's preseason darling the Seattle Seahawks came up short against the Cardinals, and the Jets whacked the revamped Bills in a game that saw Mark Sanchez shine and Tim Tebow fade into the background. All of these games occurred earlier in the day before what many considered the marquee matchup of Week 1, that being the Pittsburgh Steelers against the Denver Broncos in a Sunday night tilt that featured the return of Peyton Manning.

Punctuation Should Be Celebrated Every Day

Even though September 24 is National Punctuation Day, there is no reason not to celebrate the ! - . , ; : and the ? every time you write, right? Our ancestors made this phenomenal discovery in the early fifteenth century in Yemen. It traces its trajectory from being roasted and prepared in the shrines to being one of the most consumed beverages today.

The Quantum Revolution
by
David Terr
There were two great revolutionary ideas in physics at the turn of the 20th century, relativity and quantum mechanics. Quantum mechanics is arguably the greater of these. One third of the high-tech industry currently involves devices whose performance relies on quantum theory. Quantum mechanics has also revolutionized our understanding of atoms, molecules, chemistry, and even biology.

Quantum Uncertainty: Where's Jane?
by
John Prytz
Quantum physics is weird for a whole lot of reasons. One of the central reasons is that all things in the quantum realm are stated in terms of probabilities, or uncertainties, or indeterminacy. That's unlike the realm of classical physics, the realm our normal day-to-day lives are lived in. However, I use an analogy from the classical world to illustrate the realm of quantum uncertainty.

Seven Keys to Effective Prayer
by
Ada Porat
If prayer is so powerful, then why does it seem like the more we pray, the worse things seem to get? Perhaps we are praying the problem rather than the solution! Here are seven important keys to help you become more effective at what you put out - and receive back - in prayer.

Math Can Be Strange but Quantum Physics is Even Stranger - Part I

Indeed math can be strange. Especially when one delves into the upper echelons of this most mystifying discipline: multidimensional spaces, transfinite numbers, non-Euclidean geometries-you name it. But when you start reading about quantum physics and all the strange things that happen at the most microscopic of microscopic levels, then you really start to realize that math is not all that strange.

Can We Really Create Anything We Want? What Does Scientific Research Have to Say?
by
Tracy Crowe
If you're like me, you're thinking that the idea of creating anything we want sounds great; but where's the proof? Where's the science to back it up? It turns out that the latest research in quantum physics supports the idea that we have the ability to create anything we want. Now that's exciting!

What Does the Sub-Atomic World Have to Teach Us?
by
Gary Gillett
What can we learn from that which we cannot see? Perhaps that anything we think is impossible is very possible at this level. The very laws of physics as we understand them, the concept of 'reality' and 'locality' are non-existent! At this level, the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle really takes effect, basically stating that physical properties like position and momentum don't apply here. Light CAN be in two places at once, the multiverse really is probable, and a particle can be a wave at the same time!

Quantum Physics And Thinking Differently: Part One
by
Jeanne Fiorini
Quantum theory has not, as a classical science, defined reality, but rather redefined what reality IS. It's as if we began tuning up the car and somewhere along the line discovered that the car isn't a car, it's a flubbermobile. It's not wonder that, eighty years after the first quantum discoveries, we find ourselves still in the chokehold of a worldview that insists upon one concrete and absolutely true reality.

The win for the Huskies was huge as they had not beaten USC in Los Angeles since 1996, and had not won a road game in their last 13 attempts.

College Football - Washington Lost to USC 27-24 But the Huskies Could Have Easily Won
by
Ed Bagley
The USC Trojans blew into Husky Stadium Saturday (9-29-07) looking to put another notch on their armor as the AP's No. 1-ranked team in the nation. They left with a 27-24 victory. It is amazing that Washington allowed two Trojans to rush for more than 100 yards, gave up 224 yards rushing and 236 yards passing which allowed USC 9 minutes more of possession on offense, and Washington still only lost by a field goal.

There are better ways to move on, instead of just focusing on your anger and frustration. Here are some great tips...

I'm Obsessed With Getting Revenge After My Husband Cheated - How Can I Stop?
by
Katie Lersch
I recently heard from a wife who said, in part: "I'm sort of obsessed on getting revenge on the other woman and my husband. I know that this type of behavior is beneath me. And when I did switch my husband's sugar bowl for his coffee with salt, when I canceled his sports channel, and when I gave his golf clubs to goodwill, these things didn't really make me feel the relief or the joy that I would have hoped. I know that I shouldn't be thinking about these things but I can't seem to help myself. I fantasize about them cheating on each other or the relationship going sour. I want them both to fail and feel pain. And if I can do anything to facilitate that, I am tempted to do it. I know two wrongs don't make a right. So how can I stop feeling this way. And when will I stop being so focused on revenge?"

Just when Seattle's Mike Holmgren is entering his last year as head coach, his Seahawks are now stumbling and bumbling their way into what appears to be a Larry, Mo and Curly comedy routine. After dusting off the Minnesota Vikings 34-17 in their first 2008 preseason game on the road in Minneapolis, the Seahawks narrowly escaped defeat in their home preseason opener against the Chicago Bears, winning 29-26 in an error-prone display of ineptness. Oakland Raiders Draft Analysis
by
Daniel Cruz
The Oakland Raiders have been the butt of many jokes the past few seasons particularly after their last draft in 2009 and after a decade of incompetence on the football field. Known for taking too many risks in the draft and for drafting players merely based on their potential the Raiders changed course this year and probably had their best draft in ages by actually drafting players based on need and not potential. Raider fans have a lot to be excited about based on the Raiders 2010 draft which was their best in years if not decades!

What the Department of Homeland Security Do and What Homeland Security Means

To begin, the term "Homeland Security" is not used in any other english-speaking country except the U.S. It refers officially to the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and unofficially to the set of efforts to protect, secure and prepare America against internal and external threats. The DHS was put together during the Bush administration in 2002. Homeland security applies also to the joint efforts of the american people to protect and secure themselves and their homeland.

Terrell L Howell
Robert Rodriguez brings out the big guns, literally, for the final installment of his El Mariachi trilogy, Once Upon a Time in Mexico. This last chapter gets El Mariachi, once again played by Antonio Banderas, involved in international espionage as a CIA agent tries to bring down a powerful drug cartel leader in Mexico who is working with a corrupt general. El Mariachi is hired as a hitman by this psychotic agent and once again finds himself involved in lots of gunfire and explosions, narrowly avoiding death at every turn.

Once Upon A Time: Prophet, Oversexed Psychopath, Mohammed of Islam Taught Veronique Circumcision No!
by
Russ Miles
These young men constituted his warriors who he sent out to capture more lands, to steal the possessions of their inhabitants and, if the people living there did not convert to his sect, they were to be beheaded, men, women and children. Later, he realized that to kill all the people who would not convert to his sect was counterproductive, and so he allowed some of them to continue living on their land as long as they paid high taxes to him or became his slaves and their women concubines. Life was made so miserable for these people that many joined his sect in desperation.

Once Upon a Time in the United States of America
by
Mel Reed
Today, also very much like the Romans but just before the empire collapsed, white people have begun to fight among themselves for control of America. For their part, the conservatives are doing it "by any means necessary" that include lies and vicious character assaults against their opponents. So no one should be surprised at how divided we are. Moderate liberals and almost all conservatives have startling differences between them that have nothing to do with ideology. It is more an issue of character and true patriotism.

Chicago Bears 2010 - Strength of Schedule, Futures Odds and Predictions
by
Doc Moseman
The usually frugal Bears, it has been said, didn't fire Coach Lovie Smith following last season's incredibly disappointing 7-9 season because the team didn't want to have to pay Smith to not coach for the next two years left on his contract. But that theory went out the window when the Bears were uncharacteristically the big spenders in free agency by luring star defensive end Julius Peppers from Carolina, versatile running back Chester Taylor from Minnesota and blocking tight end Brandon Manumaleuna from the Rams.

government shutdown
A Government Shutdown Is a Political Shutdown
by
Andre Audette
Republicans and Democrats are engaging in a war of words right now, blaming each other for failing to stop an impending government shutdown. A government shutdown would indeed be a failure: not of a single party but both parties. This blame is simply rhetoric to disguise their own lack of a better plan.

It is extremely likely that we are heading towards a market selloff in the next couple of weeks, due to the extremely likelihood of a upcoming government shutdown. In a flashback to the 1990's, we are probably sailing directly towards a government shutdown, with two sides locked in combat. John Boehner, the Republican Speaker of the House of Representatives, is steering the ship of state directly toward a conflict with the Democratic Senate and President.

First Rule of Good Governance: Never Negotiate With Democrats
by

On Saturday President Obama magnanimously announced that he was willing to support cutting $33 billion from 2010 federal spending levels for 2011-which, for the mathematically challenged, is about 1% of infinity. Congressional Democrats screamed that these cuts were way too large. Republicans countered that the cuts didn't go far enough and should be extended to $61 billion, which amounts to about 2% of infinity.

Only Essential Federal Government Employees Need to Report to Work On Friday April 7, 2011

During this 'just made for media' political debate on the Federal Budget and spending allocations the rhetoric is getting a little bit too thick to swallow. President Obama warns us (using the fear-factor to his advantage) that if the Federal Government shuts down for even a week that it will have serious implications for our economic recovery - "dire implications" in fact were some of his words. That is an interesting created reality for the mass media, but the implications wouldn't be a bad thing, they'd be a good thing, namely saving $10s of billions of dollars.

The Relationship Problem: You can easily offend other people by slapping a negative label on their behavior, character or identity. This will often create a significant break in your rapport with them and cause future problems in your relationship. The Communication Solution: Avoid the bad habit of slapping negative labels on other people. If necessary, only reprimand the behavior and not the person. Betrayal of the Self
by
Linda Bretherton
Ayurveda teaches us about the profound concept of integrity and compassion to ourselves, our family, the world and the universe. One of the greatest destroyers of integrity the the way in which we refuse to look at ourselves at the deepest level - when we know that what we are doing is wrong.

How to Heal From Betrayal By Journaling
by
Kajay Williams
Betrayal is devastating. When someone cheats on you, they betray you and the trust that you had in them. This betrayal can make you question everything about your relationship and not only that, but also your entire life. The shock of the betrayal can also make it incredibly difficult to move on, as you feel in a state of shock - and this can make you feel completely numb. Betrayal can also mean that you go through a grieving process - either for your relationship, for your partner or for the life that you had before the betrayal. All of these negative emotions can leave you feeling incredibly depressed and confused as to how you can possible move on from the betrayal. One way to get on the road to recovery and healing following a betrayal is to chronicle your emotions in a journal. It might sound a little bit strange, but seeing your feelings written down on paper can really help you to come to terms with the betrayal and move on from it. Here's our guide to healing from betrayal by journaling.

How to Respond to the Betrayed Spouse's Triggers
by
Kajay Williams
After an affair, it's very common for the betrayed spouse to have a number of triggers that cause them immense hurt and pain every time they occur - for example, certain locations, actions, words, events and places can remind the betrayed spouse of the affair, bringing back those feelings of betrayal, hurt and pain. Triggers such as these can cause the betrayed spouse to steer clear of doing certain things or of going to certain places so that they don't have to be reminded of the affair - and as such, the straying spouse has to respond to those triggers accordingly so that they don't rule the marriage. Here are some strategies for responding to the betrayed spouse's triggers.

The Reason Betrayal Bites
by
Steve Wickham
Sometimes we are surprised by betrayal, but at other times we almost expect it. We felt the sense of trust getting shaky, and the lack of intimacy troubled us. But when we are surprised by betrayal the sting of such an infidelity bites and we may not be more truly hurt. The closer we were related to the person we feel betrayed by, the more trust implicit between us, the more hurt will be experienced.

Betrayal - What Can Be Done About It?
by
Steve Wickham
If there's a more common response to our humanity, in relationships, I don't know what it could be. It appears to me that we are destined to betray each other. Betrayal has a way of hooking us in to the power of our own lament. How do we get over it towards acceptance, and ultimately, freedom?

How to Help the Betrayed Spouse Heal From the Affair?
by
Kajay Williams
The betrayed spouse can find it incredibly difficult to get over the affair, even if both parties are willing and ready to work on their relationship. They often feel that their spouse is completely unaware of what they have done to the relationship - and the betraying spouse can often feel impatient that their partner hasn't forgiven them yet. This attitude can really damage a relationship, and the preoccupation that a betraying spouse can have with their own feelings, rather than their spouses can make it much more difficult for the wronged spouse to heal. There are a number of things that the straying spouse can do to help the betrayed spouse to heal from the affair, and some of them are outlined below.

Tearing Down Walls of Bitterness, Betrayal, and Backbiting Pt 1
by
Candie A. Price
Walls are built to protect us from the outside elements, but in our relationships with others walls may serve a different purpose. We build walls of different behaviors to protect us from one another. I know that betrayal, bitterness and backbiting are very harsh sounding words but most of us have either been on the giving end or receiving end of at least one of these words at one time or another.

Info 101: The Sexualization of Our Daughters
by
Carol Josel
We're robbing our little girls of their childhoods by putting sex front and center in the media with the likes of Miley Cyrus, shows like Toddlers and Tiaras, and the likes of Sweet and Sassy. At the same time, the American Psychological Association warns that sexualizing our daughters can lead to such problems as eating disorders, low self-esteem, and even depression.

Review of Microsoft's Tablet PC - The Surface Pro
by
David Yarnall
Microsoft has recently released two tablet PCs called Surface RT and Surface Pro. Given our focus in business computing, the Surface RT does not provide enough features for our liking but The Surface Pro does, and as a result we wanted to see if it could in fact, be a viable laptop replacement. The Surface is Microsoft's newest line of touch-screen tablet PCs and was specifically designed to work with Microsoft's newest Windows operating system, Windows 8.

Autodesk Inventor Vs Pro/Engineer
by
David Edward Smith
I have worked with both of these tools and have found them to be very similar yet rather different at the same time. OK lets start off with me, I'm an engineering apprentice who uses both of these tools, Autodesk Inventor at college and Pro Engineer at work. I've used Autodesk for about 3 and a half years now, so I'm not a complete wiz at it, but I feel I'm pretty good on it.
